With fiance traveling as much as he does, it's tough to get motivated to buy copious amounts of food to make a bunch of foodies. We'll usually do one huuuuge trip every month or two and stock up for awhile. We have a banana hanger that is connected to our fruit bowl. As for turning black - ours are definitely good for a week but we usually eat them by then! When they start to turn black I break them in half and freeze them into a ziploc. Then when I make my morning smoothies I just add a frozen banana :) no banana goes to waste in my house!
