I pump 4 times while I'm at work. 9:30, 11:30, 1:30 and 1;30. I worried also that I wouldn't be producing as much as what I'd been producing when I was only nursing but it's been 2 months and we're still doing ok!

Im back at work so I pump every 2 hours from 8-2, then I stop so she nurses in the evening. When Im home on weekends or when I was pumping to build supply, I was pumping 3-4 times a day whenever I could. I used to stress out about how much I was getting too. Just know that pumping is NOT as effective. I can do a full pumping session and Liv can still latch on and eat enough to top her off or keep her satiated.

@sulli301: she's 5.5 months old and feeds 5-6 times a day. Night time varies. Sometimes she'll sleep until 6 am for a feeding. Other times she'll wake up in the wee hours for a feeding.

@Mrs. Bee: I've only really started pumping since she started taking the bottle and since I'm pumping 3 times a day, I'm pumping more than she needs for that one bottle feeding. But I'm doing that to err on having more milk.

I don't like pumping and it stresses me out seeing how much I'm getting or not getting. But the last few days I'm getting more used to this extra task. I currently pump morning and night and in place of the bottle feeding so 3x day.

I pump 4 times a day between 9-6. Have you noticed a decline in how much you can pump? My supply has been pretty stable for the past month and a half or so (Olive is almost 3 months old), and I've pumped a lot, pumped a little, or not at all.

How often is your LO eating? And how old is your LO? My DD is 8 months old & I am still pumping once in the morning (I try to do it before she nurses but every once in awhile it's after) and once right before I go to bed. I also pump if she takes a bottle, etc

Pumping isn't as effective as nursing, but if you are pumping enough for your LO to get a full feeding, then your should be fine. When I was home with DS all day, I pumped before his first feeding in the morning and before I went to bed. Once I went back to work, I pumped 4 times during the work day as well.

Started giving LO a bottle once a day so obviously am pumping in replace of that nursing session. But I am also pumping after other feedings as well sometimes. I'm paranoid that pumping as not as effective as her nursing so am trying to pump more to prevent decline. Am I being totally paranoid?
