Major purge around birthdays and Christmas, and smaller purges throughout the year (maybe every 1-2 months I'll retire a few toys).

I don't have set times; I just keep in the back of my mind which toys should be retired soon, and I have a friend that I am giving hand me downs to.

This was our first year purging and I did it before Logan's birthday (November), so that'll probably be the only purge I do until next November. I did it when they weren't around because I knew they'd suddenly become very attached to toys they've never played with just because I was getting rid of them. So far they haven't even noticed, which is perfect!

We have literally never purged toys. And it's terrifying. Lol

Now that we have LO3 on the way, there are just SO many toys....I have no idea how to start. And I'm pretty sure my eldest would know, and be pissed! I don't know how you even choose what should go/stay, especially with multiple ages of kids around.

Do you do toy purges often? Do you include LO, or do you do it when they aren't around to protest?

We don't have a ton of space, so we usually do purges for birthdays and around the holidays. Out with the old, in with the new, I suppose. My kids are usually around, but I only usually ask options on things I'm indifferent about.
