I used to bring our dog to prospect park every morning. We would always run into people who recognizes him other times on the street. Yeah my DD's preschool teacher lives in our building. It's huge though (40 floors high, with hundreds of apts), so we don't see her that often, but when we do (outside of school), my DD gets shy all of a sudden... Sort of like she doesn't know how to react to seeing her teacher at home... and one time I think it was a little weird for her teacher because it was obvious that she was going out. she was dressed all fancy and not in her usual teacher/casual clothes. I noticed it in March when the weather was getting really nice. It was as if everyone was coming out of hibernation. I'm either running into family members, friends, or students/their parents. I can't go into the grocery store without seeing at least 3 people I know. Life in a small town I guess. They are random people too, like this dogwalker who works on our street and these old ladies that are always at our local coffee shop at 6 in the morning when I used to go with Charlie. And this guy with a kid Charlie's age who we would always see when pushing Charlie's stroller around late at night, when he went through a phase where he wouldn't go down unless we were strolling him! I guess we are really putting down roots in this community... sometimes people say hi to Charlie by name and I don't even remember who they are! How often do you run into people you know?
