We don't eat at it usually so we don't really need to clean it but I'm a neat freak lol. And, it's black so it gets dusty easy. I have to dust it at least weekly, if not more though, since it's a very dark matte wood. Shows dust so easily! Our kitchen table is another story. We have placemats and no kids, so it doesn't get that messy. Nothing extreme, but just wipe crumbs into my hand with a wet cloth, and soak up any visible spills. Since we have shedding dogs there's always a dog hair or two on it. And obviously from the kids eating, snacking, coloring, and playing on it, it gets pretty grimy every day. But now that we have two kids, we pretty much have to scrub it down every other day at the very least. Except... we don't. When we're busy, it's one of those things that just doesn't happen. Lately though, our daughter has gotten really into scrubbing the table - and even though she doesn't really get it clean, she gets the whole process started so I can finish the job. Can't wait for her to get a bit older, so she can take over scrubbing the table as one of her chores! How often do you wipe/scrub down your dining room table?
