Good to know I'm not the only one! I'm thinking if I leave my camera out instead of in my bag it will be easier to make an effort. I'm going to TRY to get a few pics tomorrow!

@shopaholic: I found two different sites that got good reviews for IG prints. I'm going to try to print a few this week & I'll definitely let you know how they look.

I try to use the camera weekly to capture little moments like my LO playing with his train set or eating breakfast. It is getting harder and harder to remember. DH has been really into taking pictures with film, but it takes so long to see the results.

I take a daily pic with my real camera. Usually more than one, but at least one. I upload and edit at nap time.

I upload to shuttercal, it helps keep me motivated and organized.

Get an eyefi card and I uploads wirelessly! I try to take at least once a week. I take with my iPhone too but my hands are super shaky so they're often blurry :/

I was JUST thinking about this today! Got a lot of pics on the real camera during the first week with almost everyone that visited. But since week 2, I don't think I've busted out the DSLR. NEED to do it more! Especially since I tried to print a couple of Instagram pics at Costco and they came out all weird and awful. P.S. If you figure out a good place to print IG pics, let me know!

We were just talking about this tonight - since the iPhone is so fast and almost always with us, it seems like what we'll be using the most.

LO isn't here yet, but I would say the important thing is to *take* the pictures-- you can worry about uploading later when things settle down. I hear the first few weeks are just a little hectic, no? But if you have the pictures on your camera you can always do a major upload a few weeks or months down the line when maybe you are sleeping at night or something.

I also have an eye fi card for my DSLR, so it will upload to my computer if I have the camera turned on and the eye fi card enabled. It actually takes a super long time, though, so I don't know if that's worth it. And, I'm not a photographer, I'm just someone who got her first DSLR so I can take nicer pictures than my iphone ones.

we try to use the our "real" camera every week but it hardly ever happens. so it ends up getting used for special occasions.

uploading and editing only takes place at night when LO is sleeping and this is only in the last couple of months it has been possible. LO is almost 7 months old.

LO is 5 weeks and I've used my real camera once for her 1 month photos. I'm going to try to do monthly photo s and then special occasions or a random day every once in a while hopefully. It's tough to find the time to get out all the equipment and then upload and edit.

I probably take pictures with my real camera 2-3 times a month--mostly when I remember. It's just so easy to pull out my phone! I probably use a real camera more for special occasions but sometimes pull it out when he's just being cute or I want some really good photos.

I usually upload and edit same day, during one of his naps....and put off doing housework ;)

I am a mom failure. Sadie is almost six weeks old, and I think the only photos I've taken of her with my "real" camera were at the hospital, her newborn session, and her first bath. I Instagram the heck out of her, but I never think about getting my camera out. This is sort of embarrassing since I'm a photographer. It just seems like so much more work to have to get my camera, upload, and edit. I really, really want to take more non-IG pictures of her though. I've made it a goal to start taking more lifestyle pictures (not just special occasions) of her with my camera. The last/only one I took was when she was two weeks old (see below!). I told you... failure. :(

How often do you take pictures of your LO with your "real" camera? Do you take lifestyle pictures or just special occasions? If you do lifestyle pics, when do you find time to upload/edit?!
