We have a standing date night during the week, and the same sitter watches the girls. Every once in awhile she can't, or DH has a work conflict. One of the caters at LO's crèche is doing babysitting services out of hours & she was asking me to get onto booking her as the other parents book her out weeks in advance, and some even have fortnightly standing appointments for date nights!! We have never had a babysitter, only grandparents when they are in town. The last time we had a sitter was over thanksgiving when we were home visiting my family. The time before that was 8/7 for our 5 year anniversary. Before that I don't even remember. We're hiring a sitting for the first time on Friday for my work holiday party. Normally we would ask BIL but it's his birthday. She watches the kids every Friday night, and it's a big luxury for us. Some weeks we take advantage of it, and other times we just stay home. My FIL also likes to have the kids over for sleepovers on the weekends when he is not working and free.
