It is a rugged one because I knew I'd use it for this. (We live in a forest/beach/gravel road area). But it's definitely too big for going to the mall....but I live in a small town with no malls. I think that makes a big difference. We do and used the snap and go with infant car seat a lot for the first 6 months. Then we used the stroller a good amount for the next 6 months. But then once the DD turned 1 year and wanted to walk we barely use it. Umbrella, Double stroller and the classic stroller that came with the travel seat. We use the double pretty often. Baby Girl is a month old and I have used the BOB almost every day for the past 3 weeks-she can get a little fussy in the late afternoon and a stroller ride seems to be the only thing that calms her down. I've only used the uppababy once (so far) for a mall outing...but she doesn't fit in it as well (and the bassinet feature is too cumbersome for me). We live downtown so we do a lot of walking. I like the stroller for when we are going to be out for a while because I can stash all my stuff and the diaper bag in it. But it can be prohibitively large. There are some stores we can't go in because the stroller just won't fit. When we stop for coffee, we usually leave it outside and then I end up watching it to make sure no one strolls away with it! He is still too small to go in the stroller without the carseat for now. We keep it in the back of the car, so it is available any time. I planned to baby wear from the get-go, but registered for the Jeep Liberty for jogging. I use it all the time though. I do baby wear probably half the time, in grocery stores, I always baby wear otherwise he will cry in the car. He has a maximum amount of time he can be in his carseat, the carseat is compatible with the jeep liberty stroller, so if he's sleeping I will just transfer the seat to the stroller - but I have to be sure to get some carry time in there or he will cry the whole way home. It's a balance for him :) We take walks quite a bit as well, and if he's not napping - going for a walk in the stroller is a good way to get him to sleep. Now that he's three months old, he is a lot better in the stroller because he is more aware and can see me walking him, so he knows I'm near. Whereas when he was a newborn he would cry because we weren't holding him. My sister baby wears nearly exclusively and she has a 21 lb 9 month old! She has a baby hawk and says she can carry him in it for a whole hour without even feeling it. It's very handy for when we spend the entire day somewhere, like the mall or the city, but we very rarely do that. We live in the suburbs so we pretty much live out of our car. So we probably end up using our stroller about once a week. However, when he was younger we used our snap and go all the time. Now that he's 2.5 he wants to walk everywhere and it's easier than lugging out the stroller. When this baby comes in July I suspect we'll be using the stroller a lot more again. Love them both, but the lightweight is definitely the necessity. The jogger is just a nice luxury. When he was smaller we used a car seat + stroller frame combo. We did use a carrier at times, too, but he turned out to be a heavy kid and would nap better in his seat rather than in the carrier. I do still love my stroller and use it but always make sure to have my Ergo for trips to the store. I like my stroller for longer trips to the mall, long walks around our neighborhood or to the park, and sometimes for shopping. Its also nice for around the yard (like if I have to wash my car she can sit in the stroller). Ideally, we would only ever buy one stroller. I can think of all sorts of scenarios where we MIGHT use a stroller, but I don't know what we will realistically do once LO arrives. Assuming LO takes to being carried, we might carry more than use the stroller. How often do you use your stroller, and for what activities? Do you use your stroller more, less, or as much as you thought you would?
