Fortunately we have a lot of tile floors, so I go on dust bunny massacre on a daily basis, picking them up when I see them. We have two small shedding dogs but we vacuumed maybe once every 3 or 4 weeks at the most... and mopped the hardwood floors even less often. Now that I'm back to work we just hired a cleaning service that will come every 4 weeks to do everything but the bedrooms. Maybe we are living in filth.... hehe. It just doesn't seem that dirty to us. But we also never wear shoes in the house, so maybe that helps? But have found that turning on the Roomba a few times mid-week helps cut down on the furbaby tumble-weeds. DH taught the pup to turn it on which makes it even easier! Right now, we probably vacuum every other week downstairs where we eat and walk around a lot. Upstairs (two bedrooms and a little hallway), we're doing good if we vacuum every six weeks... it's usually longer than that! I HATE, absolutely despise vacuuming!! Probably because when I was growing up, my weekly chore was to vacuum the house. And our homes got progressively bigger... from a 2,000 sq ft house, up to 3,000 sq ft. And then eventually 4,000 sq ft by the time I was in high school!!! It took forever... The living room has a rug, so I can vac that every couple days. My dog sheds horrible, I wish I had time to do it more often. Upstairs is a PITA! I hate lugging the vac up and down, so I use the dirt buster in the hall and bathroom, but I'll admit to not vacuuming the bedroom as much as I should. Really, we only clean the house once a week. I vacuum the carpet about once a week too. I would probably do it every day (or every other) if the noise didn't scare my LO.
