If tou are concerned the other thing would be to look at is if they are feeding correctly, ie latching properly and sucking efficiently. Otherwise LO may be using you to comfort themselves with sucking. Are they having both sides at a time and getting enough hind milk? Otherwise they may be snacking and not having a full feed.

Breast milk is digested in 90 mins, so 2 hrs at such a young age should be fine as long as bub is happy!

DD is 4 months old, feeds every 3 - 4 hours and sleeps a min of 10hr uninterrupted at night.

My DS however was never like this. It was a struggle to get him to 3 hourly and didn't sleep through the night till at least 6 months old. His appetite was much greater than DDs!

I should mention too that even though dd eats less than DS did, she is just as healthy and very similar weight wise to DS and my milk supply is much the same.

Every baby has a different appetite, and with BF I always have fed on demand. Let bub do their own thing, in time it will space itself out.

Yes, definitely! LO is almost 5 months. He feeds at (give or take an hour) 5am, 8am, 11am, 4pm, 7pm, 11pm, 3am. Usually the 7pm is a 4oz bottle of formula but the rest are BF.

PS: huh. Typing it out seems like a lot, but it doesn't feel like it, honest. I guess its a welcome change from every 1.5-2hrs that was the first 4 months ? Lol.

7 weeks and she eats every 2-3 hour during the day.. I don't ever let her go more than 3 during the day which means I sometimes wake her from naps in order to eat. She then does one or two feedings overnight.

9 months. Usually feeds (formula) at 8 AM, 11 AM, 2 PM, 5 PM, and 7:30 PM right before bed. She also eats solid food meals 2x per day plus a snack with her afternoon feeding. I really need to up her to 3 solid food meals per day, but all of the solid foods plus bottle feeding makes for so much work!

9 months, ebf: every 2.5-3 hours at home longer if we're out & about, still could careless about solids, bedtime at 8:15/8:30 wakes around 10/11 pm & 6 am to nurse then back to sleep until 7:30/8.

Since I want to bf long term I have no problem with feeding on demand. :)

Thirteen weeks old, exclusively breastfeeding and Miss A feeds anywhere between 2-4 hourly depending on naps and our daily schedule.

@SLR: at this age frequent feeding is excellent for establishing your supply if you're breastfeeding :-)

Lo is 12 weeks , ebf, and eats anywhere from every 2.5 to 4 hours during the day, depending on his naps. Every 2 hours is pretty common for a while though--hopefully eating more during the day will help your Lo sleep better at night!

Curious...how old is your LO? Formula or BF? And how frequently does he or she feed?

LO is almost 8 weeks and still very much on a 2 hour feeding schedule. I had thought that as she got a little older, she'd be able to space this out a bit further during the day. But it seems that she has been getting even more demanding, starting to fuss to nurse after only an hour and a half or so. Will we ever be able to space this out to every three hours??
