I do freeze coconut water into little popsicles and LO thinks that's the best treat on hot days. M occasionally gets cookies like teddy grahams occasionally, but he doesn't get candy or anything like that. If he's finished all of his dinner without whining he can get an "extra special treat" which is usually his choice of fresh fruit (especially raspberries) or yogurt with fruit on the bottom. Very rarely a cookie or bite of ice cream. I'm pretty strict about junk food in the house...I know eventually he'll have more access to it, but while I can control his diet as much as possible and try to set him on a path of thinking of things like fruit as a treat I will (and D will still choose fresh fruit as a treat over anything else). Raisins. Sometimes "healthier" crackers I can convince him are treat. A bit of nutella on something. Don't get me wrong, though. He gets all sorts of crap now that he's almost 3. Obviously I don't give in every time especially if she doesn't eat well, but I do give her a cookie or a freeze pop a few times a week. Are there healthier things I can disguise as being a treat?
