I am never without the LOs unless they are sleeping and then I'm doing things around the house. This is a big discussion in our house because DH doesn't feel that his time away working on a start-up business should count as "me" time but I do because of my earlier definition. He and I both have time after also goes to bed to do whatever, but we generally spend it together cooking dinner and watching tv. Weekends we are pretty much all together, except for random runs to the grocery store or target (that's usually me) or him for haircuts or Home Depot errands. Sometimes he goes to the gym, but it's in our building on our floor, so he can pop down and back in 30 minutes and he doesn't go during "peak" childcare times like right after work when we have to make dinner, feed and bathe LO, etc.</p> <p>I think of me time as out-of-the house fun time with friends, so for both of us it's rare... Twice a month? </p> <p>He is sitting about 2 inches from me on the couch as I type. DH would do something with friends and I would go to my yarn store to knit. I stopped going to my yarn store after a falling out and just being a parent. Last night, I attended an alumni thing while DH did the nighttime routine solo. We have nights like that on a more bi-weekly basis with lots of planning. Now, it's more like a couple times a month. </p> <p>If anything, our structured dates have increased with baby because we really have to plan it out.
