As in, I took an entire night, and then he took an entire night. 50/50 The person off duty got to sleep in the guest room! He's always done the nightly bath and has also done last bottle and bedtime since I started EPing. There have been a handful of times I've gone somewhere during the day on the weekend. I went a few weekends ago to see the premiere of BreastMilk in the city with some mommy friends and left the kitchen a mess with dirty pump parts everywhere and milk out on the counter. I came home to clean pump parts, clean kitchen, clean LO, and baby asleep happily in bed. Honestly, he's fine--he can and will do literally everything I do with LO. Well, he's not as on top of LO's laundry and doesn't really cook while watching her. But I don't cook a whole lot either, so I barely "win" in those categories. They're constantly playing together (she's only four months :)), he reads to her, etc. I pretty much have to take care of organized events though, and a lot of the housework. He didn't do laundry, sweep, anything. He washed her bottles at the end of the night. I made sure he has food for dinners. Because, (1) I bet you had everything ready for him, all labeled and laid out and such, (2) all he had to focus on was LO (whereas you are always thinking of the family . . . and doing other things at the same time like cleaning/laundry, etc.), and (3) he only had to do a single pickup . . . it was not like he was scrambling to get out the door with LO by a certain time in the morning. That makes a HUGE difference in terms of *degree of difficulty* . . . ! He did great! My hubby is pretty good at it too! :) The longest SO has solo parented was 5 days. I travel a half dozen or so times a year for work and one conference is a full week. I was nervous and missed them both terribly, but my hubby is amazing with our daughter and I feel so lucky.
