my son skipped his nap for the first time this weekend. it was terrible! he was so obviously tired, but as soon as we put him down for a nap, WIDE AWAKE and playing. but up from the nap? cranky and tired. worst thing ever. i'm thinking it won't be a regular thing - we had a late play date that day - he usually loves sleeping/napping.

Almost 29 months and it happens 2-3 times a month. I was in a panic about it initially, but I've learned he will get back on track again soon.

It happens about 5 days a week. DS1 is 3 years old and only naps on the weekends if we're busy and out all day.

It's happening about twice a week for us and he just turned 2. The problem is that then if we leave the house (which we almost always do after nap time) he falls asleep thereby preventing a truly early bed time to make up for it. His usual nap is an hour and 30 mins. Today he slept only 45 mins and then we tried an early bed time but he only fell asleep at 815. I'm going to keep trying naps for a long, long time.

21 months and extremely rarely. I'll miss the no nap days...I want him to nap forever!

Usually on weekends. She just doesn't go down for us easily anymore but will happily sleep for her nanny for up to 2 hours. We usually just put her to bed earlier to compensate.

She doesn't usually nap on the weekends. We're usually too busy! She'll take short car naps. She seems ok with it.

Right around her second birthday I would say she would skip her nap about twice a week...3 nap days, a no nap day, 4 nap days, no nap, 2 nap days, no nap...it was all over the place but when she did nap she'd sleep for 3 hours and I would always wake her up so she could have a normal bedtime. This went on for a while and I eventually pushed her nap back a bit

She's 2 years 7 months now and I would say she skips a about once a week now.

Um... every day? She stopped napping regularly at like 21 months. She just sleeps 13 hours through the night to compensate.

My 2 yo skips her nap about twice a week. Today she's been singing up in her room since 2PM... it's almost 4PM now -.- I'll probably go get her in a few minutes and just try to put her down early tonight...

When she does nap, she sleeps for up to 2 hours so I know she's not ready to drop it completely.
