My son is 16 months old and we co-sleep. Sure, sometimes I wish he slept by himself. But if he sleeps best that way, then I sleep best too! My husband says to quit worrying and just go with the flow. That's my plan!

Thanks ladies. We started cosleeping when I went back to work when LO was 18 months. He started waking at night again and I missed him so much that I didn't mind getting extra cuddles in at night. Now he'll be 4 soon and we are still cosleeping. We both like it, and I don't really see any negatives, but I definitely feel judgement from friends and family when it comes up that we cosleep.

It's totally up to the family. We have family members who coslept until their son decided he was too old for it. I think he was 10 when he quit completely.

I think it is different depending on each family! Some families do best co-sleeping until even preschool or kindergarten age and I see nothing wrong with that, if that is what works best for their family!

Once J was about 4 months he wasn't sleep as well anymore because he realized he slept with his milk so he could get it anytime he wanted. So he started sleeping in his own crib at 4 months. But I would have been willing to go longer if I had felt the need or desire. Sometimes I still relish the nights he cuddles with me!

I think you have to decide what are the best sleeping situations for your family.

whenever one of the family members wants their own space, either because they sleep better that way, want more privacy, or they just feel more comfortable that way. i don't think there is a right answer for everyone.

For my family? A few months. But it's up to you, your so, and your Lo for your family!

But really in most cases it seems like some point before kindergarten is a good time- but who am I to judge if it works longer for another family?

Honestly, for as long as you want! If co-sleeping works best for your family then why stop just because you feel outside pressure?

**I'm a fairly non-AP mom who has a son who NEVER liked co-sleeping.**
