My daughter is 17 months old and her nap is usually 1-1.5 hours long. I can count on my hand the number of times she's slept longer than 1.5 hours.

DD1 will be three in January. She naps 2.5-3 hours maybe 80% of the time. She's trying to drop it I think but I'm not ready to give it up.

DD2 naps 1.5-2 hours in the morning and 2.5 in the afternoon.

When I get a double nap it's a glorious 2.5 hours of productivity or extreme laziness. :silly:

Ds1 is three next month and in the process of dropping his one nap. He sleeps earlier on no nap days and is asleep by 730 and sleeps 12 hours. If he naps it's usually an hour and doesn't fall asleep right away at night and sleeps 11 hours.

Ds2 is 3 months and naps 3-4x a day. From 45 min to 2+ hours each.

The almost 3 year old naps about an hour a day, exclusively in the car. Yes, it sucks but I figure it's a temporary battle so not stressing it.

The 19 month old naps 1.5 hours, once a day.

3.5 years old. He naps for about 2 hours at daycare and we usually skip naps on the weekends. I'm getting ready to tell daycare they need to cut his nap down because it's affecting his nighttime sleep during the week! It's been really hard to get him to sleep before 9pm whereas on the weekends when he doesn't nap he is asleep at 8pm.

@NurseDMB: I"m hoping it is just a phase! I don't think I could possibly give her more time. Right now we wake her up at 8am every day (because otherwise she definitely won't nap) and I put her down at 1:30 (so 5.5 hrs). I used to have to wake her at 3:30 or she wouldn't sleep at bedtime (8pm) but she started waking at 3pm about a month ago. At the same time, she's been fighting bedtime a bit too. So right now on a BEST case scenario day she's up at 8, down at 1:30 for nap (falls asleep in maybe 5-10 min on a good day) then up at 3, down for bed at 8 (and again takes maybe 10-20 min to fall asleep).

LO is 4.5 years old and does not nap (stopped at 2). LO2 will be 2 in a few weeks, and he takes one nap after lunch. It usually lasts 90 minutes because we have to go pick up big brother from school. He can nap up to 2.5 hours if time allowed.

16 months. It totally varies, and I have no idea why/how, but- from 1 hour to 2.5 hours. I guess a typical nap would be 1 hour 40 minutes or so. I'm happy with anything 1.5 hours or more.

@Mae: I thought DS was doing the same thing a few months ago, but luckily he went back to napping. I think it was some kind of developmental thing or growth spurt - I just kept putting him down no matter what. I also had to look at our achedule and change things, because I realized he wasnt tired enough when I was putting him down. He normally needs to be up for 6-6.5 hours now in the morning before he falls asleep. If I put him down too early, it takes him forever to fall asleep (and sometimes he won't) and same if I put him down too late. Then he's just overtired and won't nap at all :bummed:

@mediagirl: right?!?!?! She's been sitting in her crib for 50 min so far :( She doesn't really cry just sort of wanders around her crib and whines a little. So I try to let her go a while to hope she will fall asleep. But I think I'm about to go give up. I really really really hope that this is just some sort of (early) 18 month regression thing? And not the true end of naps. Because nooooooooooo. This SAHM needs a break yo.

13 months and he still takes 2 naps. About 9-10:30/11 and 1-2:30/3. So he naps a total of 3-4 hours a day.
I think he might be on the road to consolidating the two, but I hear it takes a while to get there! I'm excited for it (more freedom to go places!) but dreading it (less time to myself, longer days with him) at the same time.
