I hope he is around for a good long time yet! He is in good health and pretty small (corgi) so I'd hope he'd have at least another 5 years. </p> <p>Both our cats are 8ish. My husband got them both when they were kittens, about 6 months apart. We've had them both since they were babies (old enough to leave mom)...although our cat stayed at my parents' house for his first 3 months because we couldn't have animals at our place. We brought him with us when we moved! </p> <p>I think (and really, really hope) they will both have long lives and I hope they are close with our kids. They are awesome animals and awesome with the kids I watch. I have the best memories of the dog my mom got before she had me. We lost my seven-year-old cat a couple of months ago. It was very unexpected and has been pretty devastating but my other three kitties help cheer me up.
