It was only like 50 minutes long so he did fine (he was actually a little scared of the dark theater). He was quiet and paid attention! DH took him to Madagascar 3 a few weeks after DD was born so after he turned 3. I know we have a very, very long time. I think it just depends on the kid though. My parents have offered to take DD (2.5) to the movies on several occasions, but I feel like she's still too young. I know my nephew went to the movies from a pretty early age, maybe even under 2? DD has never actually seen a full length film at this point (the biggest stretch for her to date has been about 25 minutes), so I'm not too confident she'd actually behave during 1-2 hour movie.
