I went to Walgreens for some supplies (pads, tuck's pads) and then I proceeded to BRU because lo needed a lot of newborn clothing (I misguessed his size). DH said he'd go but I was like, "NO, I need to leave the house!!!" I had to come back at the 3h mark because my breasts were about to explode. I think I also had my hair done when she was three months old. Miss A was EBF and a frequent feeder who hasn't ever taken a bottle so I was never too far away from her - she's still my wee sidekick! That period is very fuzzy...I never even thought about it though. He's just as much a parent as I am, and honestly he was a lot more joyful in the beginning than I was. I think I went to Target. From the beginning, I've frequently left DH and DD alone together. (Early on, it may have helped that I was exclusively pumping, so she didn't need me there to eat.) Prior to that I didn't leave for extended periods of time only because she was nursing constantly and I didn't want to pump while away or jeopordize establishing my supply. I'm always baffled by this. DH doesn't "watch" the baby, or "take" the baby or, worst of all, "babysit." She's his daughter! Sometimes we're all together, sometimes she with just one of us and its been that way from the beginning. Pretty much as soon as he went back to work when she was around two weeks old they would spend time alone together. Before that the three of us were together all the time. He always took her solo for a few hours on the weekends so I could go get a coffee or go for walk by myself after being cooped up with Miss Screamy Pants all week. Not because I didn't trust him or felt like he needed me there. It just worked out that way. I was at home with them both most of the time before that so it just never came up. Plus with her EBF at the time it just didn't make sense. Once he started being able to give her a bottle (because I finally bought a pump) it was easier. He was just saying today that he's looking forward to the 16 week mark again because that is his comfort level. He's still nervous about the two kids thing, and especially with a newborn.
