I voted other. L only slept in our room for about a week because my DH had to go back to work right away, and with him working 60 hours a week, him being woken up a million times per night while I fed baby wasn't good. So then for about a month L and I slept in the living room, but I still wasn't getting any sleep because L is/was a very loud sleeper and every little sound woke me up. So when he was about a month old I moved back to the bedroom, but L stayed in the living room because it was right outside our bedroom door and if he really woke up I could hear him quite easily.

But he moved to his crib in his own room at 3 months.

a little after 5 months. she had transitioned out of the swaddle and gotten used to sleeping on her stomach and rolling all around in the crib at my parents house. she refused a nap in the cosleeper in our room the next day and that night she went into the crib in her room with no issues. super easy transition thankfully!

4 months. Was the perfect time for us. She was generally done to one night feeding and doing pretty well with putting herself to sleep. I wanted to do it sooner rather than later to try to avoid sleep issues that would lead to having to go sleep training/CIO. She's been in her own room for a month now and doing great. Sleeping 12-13 hours with one night feeding, doesn't need any rocking to sleep or other sleep aids other than white noise. I miss having her close since it signals the end if her being a newborn but ultimately have no regrets. It's awesome putting her down and having the rest of the evening alone with DH in our room where we can talk, watch tv, etc. without worrying about waking her up.

11 months. We cobedded until he started moving/kicking. no one was getting a good nights rest. Plus I was going back to work so we figured we'd get him used to sleeping on his own for daycare purposes. I still napped with him occasionally though because baby snuggle naps are the best.

Shortly after 6 months. We were all happy with her in our room but around that time she started to toss and turn and seemed uncomfortable. From the first night we put her in her crib in her room she slept like a log. After we got used to her not being there, we slept better too.

About 4 months. I kept putting it off then I did not want to add another change on top my going back to work at 12 weeks, so we waited another month. It was pretty easy and he didn't have any issues. I was also getting a little wary of the RNP as he was moving around so much.

8 weeks. We traveled two weekends in a row and decided to get all the transition out of the way at once. It didn't phase him one bit, although I still miss him sometimes. It was nice getting our space back, especially once LO started going to bed an hour or two before we did.

7 months (wanted at least 6 month per the NZ recommendations) only moved her at 7 months because dh's alarm was waking her each morning, otherwise would have kept her in our room longer. Her room was right beside ours thankfully which made the transition easier for me!
