I was influenced a lot by Dr. Greene who says baby's first food should be a "real" food and that regular rice cereal is just like giving them sugar. Who knows. Anyway, I remember being excited to start solids but at the same time, enjoy exclusive bfing. There is so much conflicting info on when to start. We started with rice cereal and progressed from there. LO is a great eater. As soon as she started watching us eat/trying to get involved with meal time, solids went well. He was suuuuuuper fat and exclusively breastfed so the doc was like, sure! whatever you wanna do. I loved the baby food phase. It was so easy! </p> <p>@BabyLove: we got a separate freezer when I started freezing my breastmilk stash.... and I could NOT live without it now!!! It's especially amazing when you stock up at Costco or get a 2 for 1 deal on things like gallons of ice cream. I also keep loaves of bread frozen in case we run out. But between the breast milk and her food, there won't be any room for our food so I probably won't start early. We have the Beaba Babycook and LOVE it. I started pureeing and freezing stuff already. Plus I make applesauce with it and spread it on washcloths and freeze them to help with Livs teething pain.
