He did fine! Went down fine and stayed asleep. We had our daycare teacher's younger sister (senior in high school) watch him. We'll probably use her again this month. She stayed with a friend from church 2 weeks ago when DH had a church board meeting while I was at work. She will go to pretty much anybody, very chill baby. At that age, LO didn't care who was around as long as he got fed and burped and held :) LO is very used to- and ok with- hanging out with other people, so he is totally unfazed by new folks. He might fuss if a total stranger babysitter tried to put him down to bed at night instead of someone he knew, but other than that, as long as he's the center of attention, he's cool with it. I think she was about 4-5 months old when we first had a non-family babysitter other than nursery workers. Otherwise the only sitters have been grandparents, my sister, and DH's aunt/cousin! But when she's 22 months I have a doctors apt and nobody to watch her because my mom is going out of town. My mom suggested getting my brother's nanny to watch her since they are all going on a trip together and the nanny will be free. I could easily just change the doctor's apt, but I think it's time for LO to get used to other people. We hang out with the nanny a couple of times a week so we can see LO's cousin and she's so great with her. But LO does not like people. She doesn't let anyone but DH, me, and her grandparents pick her up. And right now she's super attached to me, which I know is just a phase and could end by then. But I'm still a little worried. When did someone not in the family babysit your LO? How'd it go?
