DH had to go on a business trip for TWO WEEKS. I ain't gonna lie...two weeks home alone with a newborn was HARD. And it was winter so I was stuck at home most days. Ugh. I solo parent for two weeks at a time every other month now and it does get easier but the first time was hard...but manageable! Do you have a portable swing? I would put DD in her swing when I needed to shower. Having your mom help cook or bring you food will be super helpful. I agree about postponing the shots until your DH comes back though. I was so nervous about her shots (even though she did fine!). I'm solo parenting a 2-year-old at 32 weeks pregnant. I was and am about 1.5 months behind on vaccinations. Not on purpose. He slept when he got home and woke up only to eat, shower and get ready for work.</p> <p>I don't really have advice but it was much easier than I expected! I'm starting to get really nervous! Dh is going away to a wedding for three nights when C will be just shy of two months. And, I just realized she will be getting her two month shots the day he leaves! To make things worse, he just found out about a business trip he has to take leaving two days after he gets back (gets home Sunday night, leaves Tuesday afternoon). I have pretty much no idea what life with a freshly vaccinated two month old will be like but in thinking this is going to be tough! </p> <p>My mom is probably going to come up for the weekend, so there's that, but that leaves a bunch of other days and nights of just me! How did you make it easier when you had to do it alone the first time? </p>
