Day 1 she was in the nursery in the crib but for the first 3 weeks I slept on the floor of her room!

My 6.5 month old is still sharing a room. I've been moving her to her nursery, but with her bassinet inside her crib to get used to the room, and I sleep in the spare bed we keep in there, so she's technically not on her own yet.

It sounds weird, but I actually slept deeper between wake ups with her in the other room, versus having her next to me. I think my rem was deeper and better! So it wasn't as bad as I anticipated!

We did it right around 4 months. I was very happy with that timing. The only annoying thing was we still had to get up a couple times per night when DD cried out for her binky until she reached an age where she could pick it up and replace it herself.

We moved her into her own room when she was about 6 months because we were in between houses.

She didn't start sttn until she was 7.5 months and even then not regularly. Her room is only about 10' away so not a big deal.

#2 will get moved into their own room when they're about 6-7 weeks. Whenever they outgrow the summer infant by your side sleeper.

How do you ladies who never room shared or moved your LO before they were STTN function? I can't imagine having to actually get out of bed to tend to DD in the middle of the night! lol

If LO is outgrowing the bassinet but you still want to room share, you could put the crib or a pack n play in your room. Then swaddle wean gradually instead of cold turkey?

I couldn't sleep with LO in our room. Every little noise woke me up and I didn't like tiptoeing around. We moved the rock in play into her room around 3 weeks. Then we swaddle weaned. Then we transitioned her to the crib with the mattress tilted and by building a crib nest. Then we laid the mattress flat. Then we got rid of the nest. As you can see, I don't like making too many changes at once! The gradual changes worked best for us!

At 6 1/2 months. I loved having him in our room (co-sleeper to start, but he'd always end up in our bed by 1 am-ish). We finally bought and set up a crib. I was really sad to transition him, but he sleeps so much better in his own room.

About 4 months on a whim one night. She transitioned beautifully and slept for a lot longer in her own room. ( like 12 hours) I found that when she was in our room, as soon as I'd hear her stir, I'd pick her up and feed her. I didn't want her crying and waking up DH as he would work early. Turns out she doesn't need to eat in the middle of the night. We all sleep much better apart. The first few nights I had mad anxiety and would check on her 100 times, but I'm getting better now.

We shifted A's bassinet in to her bedroom on her third night home as all her wee noises made me very anxious and unable to sleep. We transitioned her to the cot at ten weeks and out of her swaddle at four months or so. Ironically enough we've spent the best part of the last twelve months bedsharing!

8 months. We moved, and put him in a separate room in a new crib his first night. (Under a lot of pressure from ILs who said that moving him later would be too many transitions and DH listened). It was awful. His sleep went to hell and never has gotten back to where it used to be.

I'm not sure with LO2. I really enjoyed room sharing, but now the thought of giving up my room seems more annoying. We didn't have the space with LO1, but I loved going to bed with my family all in the same place every night. MIL keeps insisting we won't room share as long, and baby will be in their own room in a few weeks. But it does reduce the rate of SIDS, so I think we will keep LO in our room until 6 months. DH feels pretty strongly about that.

We moved lo to her own room at 7 months. We transitioned her from the bassinet to the crib in our bedroom first (around 5 months I think) and then dh was waking her up when he got up to go to work so we moved her to her room and had no issues thankfully. We will also have our next baby in our bedroom until at least 6 months.

right around 4 months. I had the same question back then too! We were cosleeping on the floor of my master bedroom but the noises DH would make getting ready for work was too much for baby. Plus, I was afraid waiting too long would make the transition that much more difficult (not sure if that was unfounded or not). So we moved DS around 4 months...but now at almost 7 months, it really was a great choice. I got my nights back with DH and DH wasn't required to tip toe around the room in the mornings.

We moved her to her room when she was 7 months old. Before that, she was in the bassinet of her PnP in our room and we loved it. She was a great sleeper who slept through our noises and bedside lamps being on, and also slept through the night pretty early at 2.5 months. I loved the security of knowing she was right there and all I had to do was open one eye and see her in the cot next to me. The day we moved her, I was so sad but it didn't change her sleep any and I knew it was time for DH and I to have our bedroom back.

DD2 is only a week old now and we plan on keeping her in our room for at least six months unless major issues arise. So far so good though.
