We took it really slow and 2 months later he was finished. I did go away for a weekend at 18 months without nursing and I was still making a ton of milk. I just pumped a little to keep from hurting but little girl picked right back up when I got home. I was a teary hormonal mess from stopping so quickly, so that wasn't the end of our journey since neither of us was ready. It's been a very slow process over the past several months.
