I was on the phone with the nurses at our dr office a lot that week. </p> <p>She got her first stomach bug at 4 months - that was way worse. Although it sucks to hear about babies getting sick so young I'm glad to hear for most it turned out ok. I guess one thing we will have going for us is that the new baby won't be mobile and into everything for awhile, so if we can just keep lo1 away from him while sick we have something of a chance. I thought I was going to die... Someone brought a nasty cold with a horrendous sore throat home, and he and I caught it when he was a month old. </p> <p>I'm due with my fourth in December, and this time I have a kindergartener! He just is getting over another mild head cold (all of us are) at two months! Ds1 started preschool a few wks ago, so it's inevitable. I think she caught a cold around 6-8 weeks. It didn't turn into anything more serious, thankfully, and she's only had a few colds since then. My older LO got a fever the first week the baby was home but we managed to keep her from infecting the baby. I know she will be bringing stuff home, and with how clingy she is I don't know that I can stop the spread. Although she is exposed to a lot now, she didn't get her first cold til almost one! </p> <p>When is it (not only miserable but) dangerous for a newborn to have a cold? I know many of you had your first in daycare or pre/school when you had your second...did you take any special precautions? </p>
