I read my first Nancy Drew book and I was completely hooked. I used to read at recess (I was always kind of a loner) and one day I realized I had about four other kids from my grade sitting around me reading as well. I loved books basically from birth. I insisted on learning to read before I started kindergarten. I do remember that "Jeremy Thatcher Dragon Hatcher" was the first book I stayed up reading until I finished it at like 3 am. And Stuart Little was the first chapter book I read on my own. I would read those books over and over for hours - my parents must've loved the peace and quiet!</p> <p>My son is in first grade now, and he actually just got sucked into the world of reading in the past month or so! Now he will spend hours reading these little books of stories that we got him last year. It warms my heart to see him going down the same path! And the peace and quiet sure is nice... </p>
