I feel I've accomplished what I've wanted in my career, we're financially stable, etc. I feel my husband and I are ready in terms of our relationship for a baby. Am I completely ready? I'm not completely sure. In terms of being ready for the way babies change your whole life, it seems a little overwhelming. I'll let you guys know in a few months. Financially we were more than ready, emotionally I was sort of ready. I could have easily waited several more years. I'm really glad that my 20's were for me - to travel, to get educated, to build a solid career and to live life without restrictions. Life will never be so easy again. And it depends how you define ready! I have a degree, but no career. At the job he's at now DH makes enough that I don't need to even think about working. But if he ever decides to quit or doesn't get a contract renewed... I have nothing to fall back on and neither does he. I always said I would never get married or have kids before 30 as my 20s were for me! So happy I was able to stick to that as I felt in a really good place to start a family and have no regrets about what I might have missed out on had I settled down earlier. I don't think that emotionally I could have ever been more ready than I was - but I wouldn't have considered myself ready. It was a REALLY hard adjustment period and until DS hit 6 months I wasn't really happy being a mom. As for the other aspect of being "ready" - no not at all. I did finish my associates degree, but had wanted to finish my bachelors. Never worked in a real "career", didn't have a big nest egg, had some debt... but honestly I wouldn't have traded it for anything.
