I was the second and last child. The funny thing was, when I told my dad that we were pregnant with my first at 30, he said don't worry, he didn't mind being an older parent. But, she was always there as a mom and we are really close, so honestly I've never thought much about it! My grandmother and grandfather had 3 kids by the time they were 20 (first born when they were 16). I can't imagine either of those scenarios. They were married for 10 years before having my older brother, and their extended families thought they were very weird! Most of their friends have children who are older, but my parents waited until they were established in their careers and really felt ready. My mom had 3 kids, and was done, by the time she was 27, which is how old I was when my first was born. My grandpa was 52 when my dad was born and had twins two years after that! He was 42 and my grandma was 30 when their oldest was born. My grandpa was 82 when I was born, and he always seemed so, so old.
