5 months!

P was WAY more high needs than G was & we had tons of feeding issues... We got about 2 weeks of the easy newborn stage & then things got crazy difficult. Tbh it really just took that long to adjust to HER & not so much having 2 kiddos now. Once her tummy issues completely resolved (4.5 months) & she became more okay on her own (5 months) things really fell into place.

I definitely learned not all babies are the same & will be better prepared for whatever temperament our next has! Lol

@mrs. wagon: heh. thanks for being the first responder! yes, I definitely agree that going from 0 to 1 was a lot more overwhelming. I feel so much better equipped now to handle whatever challenges that may come.

@T-Mom: yes, I think the main thing has been getting used to being sleep deprived again. and going back to work is going to be tough!!

@Mrs. Bee: hope I can escape that 4th month sleep regression. we didn't have to go through that last time too much.

@erwoo: the sibling interaction is so much fun already. well, the one-sided interaction anyway. DD1 loving on her baby sis.

Newborns are easier when it's not your first. We adjusted pretty quickly but with help from my parents and sister who were here to help my oldest transition. They gave him loads of attention which was exactly what he needed. He's still jealous but I think in a normal way. Life's definitely a lot busier and I don't have much time to myself but its a lot of fun. I love to watch my kids interact. As much as a 3.5 y.o. can with a 9 month old. It's really cute. Part of the reason why we decided to have two kids. I would love one more but for my sanity as a SAHM we are done.

The first 8-10 weeks were the hardest part for us. Its become much, much easier since then.

hmmm the first couple of months were really easy. it got hard after 4 months when olive's sleep got worse, and then so much better once we nap trained at 8 months. it was definitely way more work with two, but i feel like we adjusted pretty quickly.

It's great you are adjusting well! Newborn days were pretty good after we adjusted to less sleep. It got really tough again after I went back to work! And then got better again after weaning.

lol no responses?!?!? We had help (my mom) so I can't really judge, but I love being a family of 4!!! It's busier but I feel like we are less stressed than when we had our first!

So far I am loving our family of 4 and it is pretty calm. I guess because newborns are easy? Am I missing something?
