I baby wore DD in the snow(she is 2.5 and we got a tula toddler). My friend has an Uppa Baby Vista and she said it got her around in the snow since the wheels are big.

@Foodnerd81: Yes, we were in the same boat this winter! DH or I had to carry LO to and from daycare for about 5 or 6 weeks. I am optimistically thinking that the next few years will be more normal. :) Our commute is about a half mile, so LO can't walk anywhere close to it now, but maybe she could do it in a year. I have no idea how far 3 year olds can walk.

I think you're better off waiting for #2 to arrive and getting a double all-terrain stroller like the BOB or a Mountain Buggy.

@catlady: how long is your walking commute? Honestly I don't think any stroller on earth could have gotten through the snow this winter. Magic beans did a blog post recently about the best strollers for snow, between the bugaboo buffalo and a bob, not sure which one. But I don't think either work with two (aside from the glider board).

We have an ub vista and I literally could not use it for a month and a half this winter- the sidewalks were not shoveled wide enough, or they were but the crosswalks weren't. I baby wore all winter but I don't know what I'd do with two.

@Mrs. Lion: Never thought of just keeping a single plus a side by side version. Maybe we will do that.

@lamariniere: Good to know your 3 year old likes the glider!

@Anagram: That's a great point about the glider in the snow. Can't believe I didn't think of that. Wearing the younger one is definitely a possibility. The select does fold with both seats on but it's difficult. I don't really want to deal with it everyday!

The only problem I can think of with the glider board option is the snow--seems like it would be hard for a 3year old to hold on and stay on when you are pushing through bumpy snow.

Honestly, on snow days I would baby wear the youngest and try to get the oldest to walk (depending on how far it is?).

Does the city select fold with both seats on?

I'm not really sure about the different strollers, but my LOs are 3 years apart and DS was perfectly happy on the glider board when he got kicked out of the stroller when DD was born.

I have the britax side by side double and really love it. I think city makes one that has bigger tires that would be better for snow. It's almost as easy to maneuver as my single britax and folds really easily too. We kept our single and it's great for when i only hAve 1 kid with me.

I'm not happy with my stroller lineup but I'm not sure what I should sell or buy. Hoping for some advice from the hive! Here's what we have:

- City mini - our original stroller, used for a year
- City select (w/ extra seat) - our "upgrade" in anticipation of LO #2
- Maclaren Mark II - our travel stroller (this one is fine)

We have an 18 month old and are hoping to TTC #2 soon for a 2.5-3 yr age gap. We have a walking commute to daycare so we use the stroller every day, in a climate that definitely sees snow. My original issue with the city mini was that we got caught in snow a few times and literally got stuck. When I saw a deal on the city select double, I jumped on it, thinking it would solve our snow problems and also give us a second seat for #2. But after using it for a few months, I really dislike it. It's great in the snow but it's heavy and hard to fold, and I need to fold it every day both at daycare and at home. I also have no idea how it will fit in the little rack that daycare gives us once I install the second seat!

So...I'm thinking of selling it but then we'd be back to square one with the city mini, which still doesn't work in the snow or convert to a double. What do you guys think? Keep city select and try to make it work? Add something else? I'm tempted to sell both and just get a city mini GT with a glider board but I don't know if LO1 will be ok with that at age 3 and if I will regret selling the select since we got a good deal on it.
