@Rubies: I'm so nervous! At least you guys were able to make it through. :)

@T.H.O.U.: @MungBean: @MamaCate: i decided that we're going to do the morning, and just lengthen the days as the weeks progress. I think they do more "free play time" in the afternoon, so the mornings may be better.

@Tidybee: @NerdBee: Good luck to you guys too!

@caffeinated: you may want to check with the teachers about which part of the day would be best for LO to see? When my DD was moving up from the infant room to the toddler class, they always likedher to come in the morning because it is more structured. But it depends on the center.

Your plan sounds good too and i hopy you and LO handle it ok. Rmember that kids are resilient!

LO starts daycare tomorrow as well! Good luck!! She is 4 months old. We only did one day of transition. She spent 1/2 the day there Friday, and she'll be there the whole time from now on.

Aw, I don't have any advice but I just wanted to wish you luck and I hope this transition goes smoothly for you. I think your plan sounds good - this will give your lo a chance to slowly ease into it. Maybe depending on how she does you can try sending her five days next week? I think I personally would prefer AM since that's when LO is typically at her best.

Good luck! Keep us posted on how she does tmrw.

@caffeinated: did you ask about activities? I know our center does circle time and arts around 10am. Outside play is in the afternoon. I would think about going half days in the morning if possible plus maybe they could start tryig nap.

I totally remember how you feel! When LO started, I took her in the morning and she stayed for just 2 hours until lunch. I brought her home to eat lunch. Then we transitioned her to have her stay there for lunch but then I'd bring her home for a nap. Then the next step was for her to stay for nap time (which didn't go over very well for the first couple of weeks).

Your plan sounds great, though!

I cried a lot. Because LO cried a lot. It's hard to turn around and walk away when your LO is screaming for you but the daycare ladies always assured me that after a few minutes of crying, LO would stop. I didn't go far...I'd just sit at a Starbucks and just wait it out.

LO is starting daycare tomorrow, and i am dying!!! My plan is to have her go part-time for the first two weeks, and then full-time the week before i go back to work.

Daycare's schedule is lunch time around 11am, and nap time from 12-2. I was thinking about have her go from 2 to 5pm this week. Anyone have suggestions? Should i only do 3x this week? Should i do the morning instead from 9-12? Also, how long should i stay there?

Aaaaaaahhhhh!!!
