We did puréed prunes with my baby past her first birthday because she got backed up with solids for a long time even though she ate a ton of fruit. It didn’t get hard but she’d get uncomfortable it seemed and go a long time between. She loved the taste of the prunes and got excited to eat them and they helped her go more for sure ... just make sure it’s not mixed with apples as they more back you up.

I haven’t done them in a couple months now so she did seem to grow out of it as her system matured.

I think there is a very very wide range of normal for poops. Both my kids have very loose poops. So gross. But it runs in the family. So to speak 🥺. My 11 month old is pebbly sometimes but usually very loose.

@Umbreon: Sounds very normal. You could always add purées that help with easy poops... berries, yogurt, veggies etc

As long as it’s soft then that’s fine. My 9mo when she first started solids around 5.5 mo started going a long time between poops (10-15 days!) but it’s finally every day/every other day now. It takes time to regulate.

Hello! My 8 month old had started eating more solids so naturally his poop is changing.

Before solids he would always poop at least once a day. He just recently went 4 days without a poop and I got a bit worried, even though I read it was normal.

When he finally went, the consistency was kind of like really thick peanut butter. Is that normal or should it be softer? I know pebbles are bad, just not sure what is normal.

Thanks!
