I told my mom right away, pretty much as soon as I peed on the stick because I was so shocked our IUI may have worked and hubby wasn't home. Then we told his dad and sister when I was just over 5 weeks, after it had been confirmed by the RE via blood test. We were going to Vegas for a friends wedding when I was only 6 weeks and it was so much easier to tell our friends than try to hide it, especially since they all knew were were going through fertility treatments anyway. Even though we told all these people we made sure that they wouldn't spread the news, that was something we wanted to do. We told grandparents, etc later that night, church friends the next day, and facebook a few days after that.
