So for the first 6 weeks he was home, he was still considered preemie. He washed his hands before he touched her. Needless to say, I'm not sure if all the kiddies and visitors we had could have caused the accident that happened to baby boy at 3 weeks old. He got sick and had a 5 dy stay at Nicu. He never tested positive for anything but who knows what it could have been. I have a hard time telling or asking people to wash their hands when they come visit. Feet were ok to touch. It's not like I knew where they've been, so I was more than happy to not have other little kids grubbing on my kid. But you know your friends better than me. </p> <p>I actually hasn't thought if it as it hasn't come up for us yet. We had one friend bring his 19 month old daughter straight from daycare, but she's allergic to dos and he had to hold her the entire time anyway. </p> <p>So i guess you can only do what you feel comfortable with. I hear you on being lonely though. We just had them wash their hands real well and made sure they weren't sick. My friend's 3 + 5 year old came over briefly at 3 weeks as well. What do you think happens when you have more than one child, you can't keep them all separate for 2 months. One friend has a two year old in daycare (haven for sickness?), another has a two year old that is seemingly always with sniffles, and a third has a 6 yr old, 1.5 yr old, and a 9 month old. They told me at the ped appt that it was best to wait for her vaccines, which happen at two months!</p> <p>I really miss my friends, and I feel awful that I'm quarantining their kids. I'm sure they wouldn't mind visiting alone if the NP's recommendation to wait for shots is what new parents normally do. As a FTM, am clueless! </p> <p>Did you let your newborn around other kids ? How soon is ok? LO is 4 weeks, I am thinking am ready to lift this "ban"... It's so lonely.<br /> (I have gone out with her to places like Grocery shopping real quick and parks etc)<br /> (LO has regularly been with 11yr old nephew and 3 month old nephew) </p>
