We slowly started to drop sessions and swapping out for almond milk (family history of lactose intolerance)... we were fully weaned by 13 months!

Nursing before bed was the hardest for me so keep that for now.

However, when they wake up instead of nursing say "lets go get some milk" and leave the bedroom right away and give him a sippy and a small snack (cheerios).

Also you can try and go straight to cows milk or mix half and half in the bottle until he is use to it

I started dropping sessions and replacing them with WCM if she wanted it. I dropped the bedtime session when she started to not be interested, sent my husband in for any nighttime wakeups, and we are still nursing once a day in the morning at 16 months.

I would try substituting each nursing session with a bottle. One session at a time, of course. Until he's no longer nursing.

Ds will be 1 in just over a month (wah!)

I want to wean pretty much right away when he turns 1. He's only had breast milk but will and does take a pumped bottle once a day.

How did you wean? He still nurses when he gets up, before two naps, after his two naps and then the bottle before bed of pumped milk.

Any tips for weaning?
