Oh yeah, definitely. I would sleep in the car on the way to work and on the way home (my husband drive me). Then once on maternity leave I would sleep in and still take a two hour nap everyday.

In my experience the last few weeks of the third trimester are always tiring, but with your first, you literally only have yourself to take care of so it's not quite as noticable. If you're exhausted, you just lay around and go to bed early. On subsequent pregnancies, though, you have this little person who's needs come first and you can't just rest when you need to. Just remember it's temporary and for good cause! Take a nap whenever you can grab one!

So sorry, mama. I felt like I got hit by a Mack truck right at 29 weeks and that feeling stuck until my water broke at 36+3. I'd had very consistent Braxton Hicks several times an hour since 20 weeks, so I attribute partial blame to being actually physically exhausted. I also carried my baby really low and started having several trips to the bathroom at night in the first trimester, so the cumulative lack of sleep was brutal.

@littlejoy: I wasn't tired but I had an unusual pregnancy. I think itd be considered a euphoric pregnancy? I exercised most morning and was busy at work so I wasn't tired. Just like weeks 8-12 I was.

YES! It's ridiculous. Never was like this first time. And I sit down all day for work too... I am wondering about anemia, actually. Runs in the family.

FTM here but at 36+5 I am pretty much a mess sleep wise. I have about 2-3 days a week I can hardly function- wake up to eat, pee and mayyybe have one our I can do things before being utterly exhausted. Then I have days like today where I have slept literally one hour in the last 24 hours and the insomnia is real. Exhausted but can't sleep. I'm convinced once baby is here I will actually get more sleep than I get on days like today

Some days I'm "can't function/fall asleep working" tired and other days I'm okay. This whole pregnancy has affected my sleep way more than with LO1 (I was waking up unreasonably early, unable to go back to sleep, the day before I got my BFP and that hasn't changed). I don't remember much about 3rd tri of my first pregnancy but I definitely agree that toddlers add to the exhaustion! At least we're close to the end now

@littlejoy: I recently asked my midwife about this. She said it's a second preferably thing. With the first you didn't realise how much you got to rest (and sleep in!). I'm exhausted all the time!

I have days, like today, where I am crazy exhausted. I also don't remember feeling quite like this with my last one but I suspect I'm doing a lot more caring for my 4 yr old. So I feel you! I'm going to ask at my appointment tomorrow but assuming it's standard third tri struggles.

@littlejoy: I am also 34 weeks and have been feeling the exact same way. I think that it it a bit worse than last time because of the addition of a toddler whereas before I could just be at home and totally rest both physically and mentally.

It was really bad with LO2 - I remember booking a conference room for an hour at work to take a nap in, because I had literally fallen asleep slumped over at my desk. I think it's worse with subsequent children too, because you're trying to keep up with the little one/s you already have. Keep your chin up, mama, and let yourself nap if you can!

Yeah, I had to go lie down every day at work for about 20-30 minutes every afternoon in the nursing room so I wasn't falling asleep at my keyboard. Good luck, you're almost there!

I'm 34 weeks along and SO TIRED. I really don't remember this being a thing last time. I take all of my supplements, and have been eating a great diet.

Maybe I'm just forgetting, and this happened last time too. I can barely make it until noon before I need a nap to function the rest of the day. It's like 1st trimester lethargy.

Anyone else?
