I feel the same way. I am just telling people slowly and letting them know I don't want the news spread fast. That way it isn't everyone fussing at once. I am almost at 17 weeks and it is still pretty easy to hide, although getting more difficult by the day. I think slowing letting the people around me know has made it better for me. I know it will come though when everyone else starts to notice.

i felt the same way you did. i hate being the center of attention and making announcements about myself as well, so i didn't end up telling the vast majority of people until week 19-20. i think if you can hide it strategically with clothing and you don't pop until a little later (which is often the case with first time moms, not sure if you are one but it sounds like maybe), you can pull it off. the reaction from people doesn't really change much whether you tell them earlier or later - most everyone is just happy for you. good luck and congratulations!

I like my privacy and hate being the center of attention. I worry about being the center of attention when I am pregnant. My plan has been to hold off on telling people as long as possible, partially to avoid the fuss, and partially due to fear of miscarriages (I will be high risk). I figure that instead of having 30+ weeks of people fussing, I could maybe get it down to 20. DH and I were discussing this, and he thinks that holding off might make me/us more the center of attention.

Which way do you think? Why? How can I avoid this?
