My LO is 16 months and adores her bedtime bottle. It is not like she is 3.....I don't see what the rush is to wean her off of the one bottle.

Honestly, what does 1 bottle a day hurt? My lo is bottle weaned entirely at 11m but he takes this dippy at bedtime and I think it is because it is such a slow flow sipy that is reminds him of a bottle. Def worth trying.

Do what works for you and your LO. What pedi said it just a recommendation and not a requirement. I tried with my LO and he wasn't ready so I didn't push it. As he started to eat more table food, he didn't need his night bottle. Good luck!

Cold turkey worked for us. We took the nighttime bottle away the day after LO turned 1, and have never looked back. We offer him a sippy with milk with dinner and after his nightly bath, since he usually won't drink all his milk with dinner. Between dinner and bedtime, he usually drinks about 4 oz of milk, which keeps him full and satisfied until morning.

We tried at 12 months and my LO was not giving it up. C is 17 months and still gets that one at bedtime.

I think it just like BFing. Give it up when the kid is ready. Our ped was totally fine with it.

We tried at 12 months and our DD freaked, so we relented and tried again at 14 months with no problem. We just started moving the last bottle to go, which was the bedtime bottle, up. So one night instead of right before bed, it was right before her bedtime story. The next night it was before PJs. Then before her bath, until we gave her a sippy of milk with dinner and no bottle before bed.

Ds is 1. Our pedi said no more bottles at his checkup. I nurse him in the am, they do sippys at daycare and I'd been giving him a bottle of whole milk at night. He just started sttn a month ago as soon as I started the nighttime bottle...now I'm scared to bottle wean! I tried no bottle tonight and it was lots of tears. I went in to get him to see if he'd try milk from a sippy, and nope. I ended up just nursing him to sleep. Advice?
