I just stop going! I've never stayed with one for a long time though. I've been with my current hairstylist for about a year and that's the longest. I am not very loyal when it comes to my hair!

I don't really ever break up with them, I just stop going to them. In your situation that FB issue is super tricky!

I'd just stop going to the old stylist. One of my friends is a stylist and she doesn't care when friends go to other people. She has plenty of other clients to make up for it! I would hope this girl would feel the same way.

I can't break up with my stylist. I've literally known her since I was born, she lived across the street from me growing up. Luckily I love how she does my hair..... But even if I didn't I'd live with it :)

In your situation I'd just stop going. Maybe defriend and hope she doesn't notice....

I've never stuck to a stylist for more than a year. =( I'm envious that you've found people you've enjoyed working with. Just.... stop going??

I went through this once and agonized for weeks over telling my hair guy. In the end, I just never went back. Maybe that wasn't very nice, but I didn't feel like I had to explain...?

Today, I cheated on my hair stylist. I have been going to the same girl for years but desperately needed my hair done and our schedules were too conflicting to get me in within the next two weeks. I had no choice.

My best friend works at a salon so she got me an appointment with one of her stylists and I really, really, really liked her. I love my girl but my hair always ends up with a little brassiness to it. This lady has a completely different technique that kept some of my original color and made my blonde much more natural looking. She is more expensive, but I am willing to pay if my hair looks better (and she said this technique is healthier for my hair and will let me go longer between highlights).

I feel so guilty! I kind of want to continue seeing the new lady. I am friends with my current hair girl on facebook though and have been seeing her for so long. She always hooks me up price wise and even did my hair and makeup for my wedding for next to nothing. I feel like I am ending a relationship!

What is the best way to approach the situation? Have you ever "broken up" with a stylist before?
