My daughter moves too much at night, too, for this to have ever worked for us. We used a humidifier and on one long night took turns letting her sleep on our shoulder. Good luck!

DS had a runny nose this weekend and we let him sleep in his stroller slightly reclined. Once he was in a deep sleep, the snot seemed to "dry up" and he was able to sleep peacefully. Once that happened, we transferred him back to bed and he slept fine for the rest of the night.

Just be careful of elevating her too much where her head falls forward as there is a risk of cutting off the airway.

We used to cram a folded quilt under one side of her bed...it would give her some comfort.

DD got lots of congestion early on - I think due to drainage problems...some things we did:

-propping the mattress
-going in to adjust her when she spun (as you mentioned)
-Vicks
-Essential Oils...Doterra makes a mix called breathe...it is amazing
-humidifier

good luck!!!

My 8 month old DD has a runny nose so we didn't get any sleep last night. She keeps waking up not being able to breathe. The doctor suggested elevating her head while she sleeps. I understand that I can prop the mattress to elevate one side but DD moves around a lot while she sleeps so if I elevate one side, there's a good chance she'll still spin 180 degrees and will end up elevated the wrong way (or will turn 90 degrees.)

Any other ideas to get her in an elevated position for sleeping? My co-worker suggested having her sleep in her stroller. We may try that.
