If it will screw up you finances to have the cheque cashed one day - then for sure bring it up. Otherwise, I'd leave it alone unless it somehow naturally came up in conversation.

I would give him another month. And give cash next time! I always give cash so I don't have to worry about people holding onto a check for a long time.

Aww he was probably embarrassed because he didnt invite you.
I'm guessing he's seen the check but just hasn't deposited it!
I'd write an email congratulating him again and to cash the check already! :)

I would follow up since its been over a month! You don't want any loose checks out there. Just send an email and ask if he's had a chance to look at the card....

Hmmm...I'd give it another month honestly. My husband for example, only goes to the bank about once a month or so an deposits all checks at that time.
Plus- if it were 2 months later, he wouldn't think you were fishing or a thank you; he would be like "damn I need to cash that" or "wow, I didn't realize there was a cheque in there"

Maybe ask if he's had a chance to take a look at the card that you guys gave him? Though I would be worried about him thinking that you were impatiently waiting for a thank you card...

A coworker of mine had a destination wedding and no one from work was invited (obviously) but because he is a good friend, on our last day of work before he left, I gave him an envelope of congrats. I think he was embarrassed or something because he quickly said thank you and put it in his work bag. In the card was a cheque that has yet to be deposited. This was over a month ago.

Do I let it go and just wait for him to find this? Do I let him know what was in the card?
