When I was trying to teach LO to self soothe without crying I would just give her a chance every night to try to put herself to sleep. So laying her down awake and seeing what happened. Sometimes she actually would! I'd stay in the room and sometimes pick up put down. Take this advice with a grain of salt though because while I thought we were making progress ultimately she regressed and we ended up using a cry method to sleep train at 11 months. I do think the no cry methods work if you can be consistent though.

Hi bees. Our LO is 18 weeks old, and we are having a hard time getting her to fall asleep at night. She sleeps through the night once she's out, but bedtime can take 1-2 hours.

I was looking into the no-cry sleep solution, but wanted to ask other people if it was useful.

We aren't interested in doing CIO. I'm open to any gentle methods.

Normal bedtime routine looks like this: bath, jammies, screaming, bottle, passes out, put her in bed, she wakes up 30 minutes later, nurse, sleep, wake, put pacifier in mouth, wake a few more times, eventually falls asleep.

I know this is NOT a great method, as I wish the bottle/nursing wasn't her crutch.

ETA: we co-sleep ... she's in a little co-sleeper next to our bed. Not sure if that really matters.

Thank you!!
