Thanks all! It seems like he is still pooping with every feeding so unfortunately I can't not change him yet, but I think that starts to slow down pretty soon. The past couple of nights we've changed / reswaddled before the bottle and that's helped a bit.

Agree with the others; don't unswaddle or change unless necessary. Also, if you pump milk at night, try feeding that to her instead of formula/day-pumped milk since night-time breastmilk contains sleep-inducing chemicals.

I only change diapers once a night (the times I let it go all night he gets a leak). Try that and leave swaddled. But I have to say even for my current baby who is 5w and BF he doesn't always go down easy after a motn feed. He is still sorting out days and nights.....

Same as above posters - I premade the bottles (kept them in the fridge) and warmed one up when she woke up. I kept her swaddled unless she had pooped. It was bottle then right back to bed. If you ever want to talk about EPing, send me a wall msg!

We never swaddled, but i wouldn't' change diaper unless poopy, and i would make sure to not stimulate when feeding. No singing, talking, lights as low as possible, ect. She never had an issue. I would feed, burp, and lay back in RNP and rock her in that to sleep.

Yep - I didn't unswaddle/change diapers unless poop.

at that age, I think LO was either falling asleep as he ate or I was just holding him until he fell asleep and then putting him down.

I also would not unswaddle or change diaper unless it's a poop. I didn't burp MOTN and it didn't seem to cause any gas issues. Have you tried giving the bottle in one session rather than doing half at a time?

At that age, I changed his diaper first and then fed and burped him. Mine weren't swaddled. He usually passed right out with the bottle. If not, I stuck him in the rock n play, got back into bed, and rocked him until we both passed out. Eventually, I stopped diaper changes too.

Oh at 1 week old she was still in the RnP so she was inclined. I just rolled over, gave her a bottle and that was it. She was never a very burpy kid

With my first baby I nursed her to sleep until she was 8 or 9 months old and she'd always go down super easy after a MOTN feeding. This baby I am EP-ing and bottle feeding, and really struggling with getting him back to sleep at night! I usually unswaddle, feed half the bottle, burp, then change his diaper, reswaddle and give him the rest. But then he's just awake!

He's only a week and a half old so maybe he will just eventually get the hang of it?
