DS struggles with eating wet foods also. His favorite food right now is freeze dried bananas. He will sometimes eat a fresh banana but he has to eat it like a monkey holding the peel. It's so tough because I never know which mood he'll be in but at least he will always eat the freeze dried versions.

When we had an SLP consult she said that it can sometimes take 15-30 exposures for a LO to try a new food...exposure being anywhere from tasting, smelling, seeing, playing etc with the food. They don't actually have to eat it every time. She suggested allowing LO to play with the food with no pressure as to actually eating it. Just keep at it and one day she will surprise you!

Just keep at it. It took awhile for DS to feed himself. He is 11 months and still needs a little help with certain things, like bananas and peeled fruit. But for the most part he can pick up anything and eat it. I think he really got it around 10 months.

I would just keep offering it in a zero stress environment. Offer it on a spoon to get her fed, and offer her some to touch to help her chill out about the wetness. She'll get over it eventually.

LO is 9 months old and will self feed herself puffs, cheerios, and peas. But whenever I try to give her anything the slightest bit wet she totally freaks out and screams and cries and throws the food on the floor. Like this morning I tried to give her banana and a temper tantrum ensued. But when I put it on a spoon she'll eat it. I'd like her to self feed more, but not just Puffs because I feel like there's not a whole lot of nutritional value. Has anyone else gone through this? Do I just keep offering her the wet stuff, or should I give it a break?
