When they open their mouth to breathe, let go and they unconsciously swallow the medicine. We had the same problem and nothing worked until we went in to get another "yummier" prescription. I didn't taste it (I'm pregnant) but the pharmacist did say it was awful tasting and that I could mix it with stuff</p> <p>She had to have it 3x a day but only 3mL which was a tiny amount. I put it in a shot glass and mixed with juice (grape or Apple) and had her drink it with a straw. LO hated, hated meds! She was super stubborn and I had an incident where she actually aspirated the meds (breathed it into her lungs) because she fought it but the cold, then medicine, did the trick. I made sure to put everything in very quickly one after another, with little time in between. Maybe you can give an 'incentive' bribe so she will want to take it. :) It will taste bad but it should go down. Is there another sweet tasty food she likes?
