I agree with the steamy bathroom, and we also did a little bit of Vick's under socks. The NF was helpful when I could hold him down long enough to use it.

ETA: His pedi also told us that the pressure from his sinuses was likely giving him a headache and we shouldn't worry about giving him Tylenol if he was crying a lot for no real reason because there was a good chance he was in at least a little bit of pain.

We also do a vapor bath and run the shower for steam for him when he's got a bad cold. It really loosens his mucus and gets things flowing a little better so he can get it up and out!

Yes, zarbees! Natural and fine for 12 mo and up. Also you could ask your pedi... In some cases mine has told me to give something like robitussin but in a smaller dose. All the bottles say something crazy like don't use under are six but I'm pretty sure that's because some parents were like ODing their kids.

Saline nasal spray. Make sure it is the spray, not the drops.

We do Baby Vicks on the feet - I don't know how it works but it quells the cough!

Also you could try putting a small travel pillow under the crib to raise it slightly

Are you opposed to medicine? I give my LO Zarbees when he is sick. It's an all-natural cough suppressant where the main ingredient is honey which soothes the throat. You can find it at Target or Walmart. I would also try drops of Eucalyptus oil in the dehumidifier.

Are his sinuses congested? I survived the infant period without a nose frida, but broke down and bought one a few months ago at 17 months for a bad cold. That thing is magic!

Also, I would shut yourself in the bathroom with him and stuff a towel under the door. Run the shower to get it nice and steamy in there. That will help with the congestion.

He has a bad cough. I have the dehumidifier running with Vicks in his room but I don't know how else to help him. He doest have a fever but is very congested. I tried giving.him a hot beverage but he won't drink it. I gave him Oj for the vitamin c. He's 18 months.
