DD loves her Nuby monster sippy. Most of the water just dribbled down her chin at first, but that didn't stop her. She thinks it's so fun! Now she's a little more successful; less dribble, but I'm not exactly sure how much she's actually drinking.

Lo took awhile to completely use her sippy. First she would just play with it. It took her a long long time to get the straw cup. I bought lots of different kinds thinking it was the cup..... she just wasn't ready.

We offer him a sippy cup (it's a Munchkin brand). He got the hang of it after a few weeks but still needs some help tilting it back. He does actually drink out of it now, but probably only gets a couple ounces of water each day. I'm tempted to buy him a kid's size Camelback as he got the hang of using my husband's on the first try.

We offer B a sippy cup. He loves grabbing it and trying to drink from it but he's not real good at tilting it. It's hilarious to watch him go after it though.

We had a lot of success with the Nuby sippy cups. I introduced the sippy to my LO around 5.5 months. At first he would just play with it but eventually he realized that if he bit the spout then water would come out. I had to tip it for him at the beginning and after 2 weeks he had mastered the sippy. I introduced a straw cup 2 weeks ago at just over 10 months and he got it right away.

charlie took to the zoli right away. olive was able to drink out of a straw the first time i gave it to her too, but she was much older (close to 1 year). her favorite sippy cup is the tilty.

at 6 months they are usually way too young to be able to drink out of a normal sippy cup. i would try the tilty or a straw cup.

I offered a straw cup (Zoli)for a week before she got the hang of it. There was a lot of dribbling the first couple of days!

Kids are 6 months now and I'd like to try introducing a sippy or straw cup. How did you go about it, and were you successful around 6 months or was it later that everything clicked?

So far I've tried a nuby level 1 sippy with them. They'll drink, but only if I give it to them like a bottle, and only a little bit. My daughter totally went after hubby's straw at Starbucks the other day, so I grabbed a few playtex flexible straw cups today. They'll put their mouths around the straw, but I guess the sucking instinct didn't really kick in. They are mostly formula fed, so they have no issues with bottles.
