Make sure you have a space to go to that is completely toddler-proof. Then for kids that age, novelty is useful. Have a stash of some things that they don't get to see/use except during nursing times. Preferably things that can be relatively independent, but use your own judgement because you may feel comfortable offering help or feedback while you are nursing, or you may not. Sturdy books, balls, sensory items to explore, stickers, maybe even some toys that have noise or lights (assuming that doesn't keep baby from nursing)... I found these, too: http://thedizzymom.blogspot.com/2012/09/10-ways-to-keep-your-toddler-busy-while.html or http://everydaylife.globalpost.com/activities-toddlers-mom-breastfeeding-baby-4004.html

Still have a few more months before I have this problem.... But my plan is to just let her pick what room she wants to play in and stay in there and shut doors so she can't get out. Usually she's happy just playing with toys for a bit.

How would you keep an 18 month old busy while nursing another sibling?? Being disrupted makes everything take 5 times longer!
