To get the text sideways and in different directions you have to make it wordart, you know that little A on the tool bar, well click that and change the text to whatever you want. If you want fancy font, download it, dafont.com (I think that's what its called) has great fonts, for free. And then you move the direction of it you have to click the outline of the textbox and you'll see a half circle and play with that to move the text. Also to get things in front of other things such as your font in front of your background click on the outline of the box again and there's a little box you can click and select the "in front" button. I created the design in power point and had it printed onto larger paper at Staples. I bought a canvas from the dollar store, painted it black and traced the design onto it. Then I used paint pens to colour the design.
